How the writing style matches the content in The Stranger
Camus's writing style is very fast and simplistic. He changes topics very fast and does not linger on important issues. Also, many events happen within short period of time. This writing style very well matches the content of The Stranger. Meursault is a simple man who appears to not care about people and events in his day to day life. Just as the writing does not mention apparently important events, Mersault seems to not care about events such as Maman dying, or the Raymond beating his mistress, or Salamano poorly treating his dog and then losing him. "Marie said it was terrible and I didn’t say anything. She asked me to go find a policeman, but I told her I didn’t like cops"(Camus 44). Mersault is not able to give his opinion one issue and the writing reflects it because it is a short sentence and seems unimportant.

Jack, good analysis of the prose style to see his character: Mersault is not able to give his opinion one issue and the writing reflects it because it is a short sentence and seems unimportant.
